Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue An. Ellis Taylor, American actor and producer. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis, a producer as well as an American actor who is active in theater, television and film. She started acting on stage and then appeared in mainstream, independent, and TV series. The actress gained fame as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on the epic BET series The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with high praise but also received a host of awards and nominations including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Movie. Her professional acting debut in the role of Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. Apart from the Broadway production Come and Gone, she is also credited in Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. In the film industry her most well-known roles are parts like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. On television her regular role on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her high praise.
