Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American actor and performer who began her career with smart raps that addressed sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comic perspective. Her career then grew to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came through the instrument of trumpet. In addition to classical and jazz, Nora Lum started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. In college, she focused on her studies and studied women's studies as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. She turned her attention to music once she graduated. After gaining viral fame on the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick. It eventually appeared on her debut album Yellow Ranger. On the album, there were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitchethe cost of $. The latter track was connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. Her resume included both author and musician. She was now looking for a new career path in acting. Her film credits include films like Neighbors 2 Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP In Fina We Trust.
